I had a great time at Quinta da Mizarela wih Pete and Synthia at the Awakened Life Project. Pete showed me round and told me his vision of Quinta da Mizarela – a small community of people living with the land, creating permaculture, meditation, yoga and a very low impact diet. We had a fire to burn some more or the brambles near the stream that Elsa, João and André had cleared. We finished the day with a very nice acoustic jam.
Foi uma experiéncia muita boa na Quinta da Mizarela com o Pete e o Synthia na Awakened Life Project. O Pete me mostou tudo a volta da quinta e disse a visão dele para Quinta da Mizarela – uma comunidade pequena morando no campo fazendo permacultura, meditação, yoga e uma dieta baixo impacto. Fazémos um fogo com silvas e mato o lado da ribeira que o Elsa o João e o André limparon. Acabámos o dia tocando musica acustica.

Today I had hut the vines on the last day of descending moon (when the energy is down). Also sowed some seeds; serifon, osaka purple, mizuna, dill, borage, rucula and tat sai.
Hoje podei as videiras no ultimo dia de lua descendente. (quando a energía está baixo. Tambem palntei algumas sementes como serifon, osaka purple, mizuna, dill, borage, rucula and tat sai.

After spending some weeks away from the farm visiting family in France and England I am back to the beauty and tranquility of the Beira Serra. The sun is shining in all it´s glory and charging my little solar battery as well. I have been very happy to see the momentum and networking of sites such as Permacultura Portugal and Ecosol Portugal.
It is good to see groups forming of different regions and cities so that we might get in contact with others who want to live a lighter way on the earth. I also hope that soon we will have a “local currency” in circulation that we can use between each other for certain things or services we would like to trade.
I am also hoping that my friend Joaquim will show me how to keep bees this year. Last year his hives caught fire and so he will be starting anew this year. And of course I want to meet any seed savers and learn from them/you!
Now there is plenty of water in the stream which is very reassuring. I have to get on with pruning the vines before the spring comes. The winter salads are good, some are going to seed so I will be able to collect the seeds!!
Depois algumas semanas de vistar minha familia volto a beleza e tranquilidade da Beira Serra. O sol é brilliante e está a cargar minha bateria solar. Estou muito feliz a ver o crescimento dos sitios e redes de Permacultura Portugal Ecosol Portugal.
É bom a ver grupos locais a formar de pessoas de permacultura e eles querem vivir mais lentamente na terra. Espero que vamos ter uma moeda local em breve em circulação usar comprar bens e serviços que nos temos.
Também espero que o Joaquim me vai ensinar como tomar abelhas assím ele tinha um fogo nas clomeias e são destruidas. Então é preciso começar outro vez. E claro quero aprender mais de pessoas que colhem sementes!!
Agora há muito agua na ribeira, tenho que podar as videiras antes primavera. As salades de inverno são boas, algumas vão a semelhar e os posso colher!
